PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication device capable of upgrading, updating, or changing a program and/or setting data of the radio communication device by extremely simple operation.SOLUTION: When a plug P1 of a data update device 2 storing at least one update program or update setting data of a program and setting data is connected with a jack J1, and a power switch 20 is turned on, a CPU 10 of a radio communication device 1 transmits a predetermined confirmation signal to the data update device 2. When the CPU 10 receives an affirmative response signal transmitted by the data update device 2, it determines at least one update of the program and the setting data, and then transmits a transmission instruction signal to the data update device 2. After receiving the update program or the update setting data from the data update device 2, the CPU 10 updates a program or setting data stored in a flash memory 11.
