PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article having a high liquid absorption speed and an excellent spot absorbency and reducing the amount of liquid reverse flow.
SOLUTION: This absorbent article 1 includes a fiber layer 5 which contains more than 50 wt.% of a synthetic fiber and a synthetic fiber treated with one or more surfactants selected from a group consisting of sucrose alkyl ether and sucrose fatty ester, wherein the amount of the surfactant employed is more than 0.5 pts.wt. to 12 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the fiber in the fiber layer. The fiber layer 5 is disposed as an interlayer, for example, between a surface layer 2 and the absorbent body 4.
