PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily fit an engaging member to a slide member without deteriorating strength of the slide member in a reciprocation mechanism of a fishing reel.SOLUTION: An oscillating mechanism 6 includes a traverse cam shaft 21, an engaging member 25, and a slider body 24. The traverse cam shaft 21 has a spiral groove 21a. The traverse cam shaft 21 rotates in conjunction with a take-up operation of a handle 1 fitted to the reel body 2. The engaging member 25 has an engaging pawl 25b engageable with the spiral groove 21a. The slider body 24 has a support hole 24f for rotatably supporting the engaging member 25.
