PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly drive an oscillating mechanism.SOLUTION: The oscillating mechanism 6 reciprocates a spool 4, around which a fishing line is wound, relative to a reel body 2. The oscillating mechanism 6 comprises a traverse cam shaft 21 and a slider 22. The traverse cam shaft 21 rotates in conjunction with a winding operation of a handle 1 fitted to the reel body 2. The traverse cam shaft 21 has a spiral groove 21a. The slider 22 has an engaging pawl 125 that engages with the spiral groove 21a of the traverse cam shaft 21. Here, a projecting portion 128a on a front end side of the engaging pawl 125 in a direction along the spiral groove 21a is provided so as to become longer than depth of the spiral groove 21a.
