PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lancet having a novel structure capable of detaching a cap of a puncture needle easily and stably when the lancet is used.SOLUTION: A lancet 10 is arranged with: a detachment restriction mechanism engaging a cap 20 with respect to a protector 14 while permitting relative rotation from an initial position in a circumferential direction and disenabling detachment in an axial direction, and permitting detachment in a predetermined rotation area in the circumferential direction by releasing the engagement in the axial direction and a detachment mechanism formed by an inclined face generating an axial direction force for detaching the cap 20 from the protector 14 with relative rotation of the cap 20 with respect to the protector 14 in the circumferential direction in the predetermined rotation area in the circumferential direction where the engagement in the axial direction by the detachment restriction mechanism is released.
