PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire capable of eliminating such a malfunction that one of adjacent element wires runs onto the other element wire.SOLUTION: A guide wire 10 includes a shaft 12, an outside coil body 20 that is wound around a tip part of the shaft 12, and an inside coil body 40 that is provided inside the outside coil body 20 and wound around the shaft 12. In the outside coil body 20, a plurality of strands 22 configured by twisting a plurality of element wires 21 together are spirally wound. A winding direction of the outside coil body 20 is opposite to a winding direction of the inside coil body 40.
