PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catheter which has pressing property capable of efficiently transmitting force applied to the proximal side of the catheter to the distal side or distal end of the catheter, in which operability when inserting the catheter from the outside of the body along a guide wire does not decline.SOLUTION: The catheter comprises a distal end side shaft 2 and an intermediate part shaft 8 composed of a tube made of a resin, a rear end side shaft 3 composed of a metal tube, a guide wire lumen 5 with openings at the distal end and rear end of the distal end side shaft respectively, and a metallic core wire. The rear end part of the distal end side shaft and the distal end part of the intermediate part shaft are bonded, and the rear end part of the intermediate part shaft and the distal end part of the rear end side shaft are bonded.
