PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which has such a structure that the edge part of a back surface sheet 2 does not directly get in touch with the skin and thereby which is reduced in discomfort feeling when attached.SOLUTION: An absorbent article is structured as follows: a permeable front surface sheet 3 is made of nonwoven fabric and outside extended parts 10, 10 where the permeable front surface sheet 3 is extended outward from the edge of the back surface sheet 2, are set to at least the front and back edge parts of a sanitary napkin 1 of an outer peripheral flap part F where the permeable front surface sheet 3 and the back surface sheet 2 are extended to the side outer from the edge of an absorptive body 4 respectively. The outside extended part 10 is prevented from curling owing to formation of an embossed recessed part 20 on the permeable front surface sheet 3 along the almost longitudinal direction of the napkin in plan view.
