A method of producing a ready-to-use hydrophilic catheter assembly comprising the steps of: - providing a gas impermeable container (12) having a cavity therein； - coating at least a part of a catheter with a hydrophilic coating； - placing the hydrophilic coated catheter in the cavity of the container (12)； - placing a quantity of liquid in the cavity of the container (12)； - seal the cavity with the catheter and the liquid in the cavity of the container (12)； characterized by - aging the catheter assembly for a predetermined period after the completion of the aforementioned stages and thus delaying the distribution of the container (12) after sealing the cavity with the catheter and the liquid inside it during a period of sufficient time: i) for the production of a steam atmosphere inside the cavity； and ii) for the vapor atmosphere to complete the activation of the hydrophilic coated catheter.Un método de producción de un conjunto de catéter hidrófilo listo para usarse que comprende las etapas de: - proporcionar un envase impermeable (12) a los gases que tiene una cavidad en su interior； - revestir al menos una parte de un catéter con un revestimiento hidrófilo； - colocar el catéter revestido hidrófilo en la cavidad del envase (12)； - colocar una cantidad de líquido en la cavidad del envase (12)； - sellar la cavidad con el catéter y el líquido en la cavidad del envase (12)； caracterizado por - envejecer el conjunto de catéter durante un periodo predeterminado tras la finalización de las etapas mencionadas anteriormente y retrasando de este modo la distribución del envase (12) después de sellar la cavidad con el catéter y el líquido en su interior durante un periodo de tiempo suficiente: i) para la producción de una atmósfera de vapor dentro de la cavidad； y ii) para que la atmósfera de vapor complete la activación del catéter revestido hidrófilo.
