PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pellet-like feed adjusted in floating properties and settlement properties thereof by the HLB value of a surface coat without decreasing the merchantability.SOLUTION: The solid feed is given with desired floating properties or settlement properties in water by the HLB value mainly of the outermost coating layer, regardless of the feed composition, by forming on the surface of solid feed, at least one coating layer solid at normal temperature, heat meltable, and composed of a surface active agent for food addition. Beeswax, or ester selected from the group consisting of glycerine fatty acid ester, polyglyceryl fatty acid ester, sorbitan fatty acid ester, propylene glycol fatty acid ester, and sucrose fatty acid ester can be adopted for the coating agent.
