PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supplementary food for after operation, which can be mixed with an ordinary liquid diet such as juice or soup and then taken in a good taste by a surgical patient needing an oral nutritional support from an early time after operated, has a high protein content, and contains vitamins including vitamin B6 and minor elements including zinc.
SOLUTION: The supplementary food after operation, containing a protein material richly containing proteins as a main ingredient and substantially not containing lipids and carbohydrates is characterized by compounding &ge95 wt.% of a whey protein isolate having a postoperative auxiliary protein content of &ge90 wt.% and further containing 0.1 to 20 mg/10 g of vitamin B6 and 0.1 to 30 mg/10 g of zinc.
