The present invention relates to a dental composition in the form of a cake or of a gel based on a physiologically acceptable salt of the hyaluronic acid and of an antiseptic (dihydrochloride octenidine), possibly one or more other polysaccharides and an inorganic salt, a physiologically acceptable medium, which is suitable for the treatment and prophylaxis of dental complications, for example for the treatment and prevention of ostitis, the treatment of the healing of the gums, after the removal of the scale, for the treatment of wounds of the oral mucosa and to the tongue or other types of injury and damage the buccal cavity. Said composition or dental preparation is characterized in that it contains a salt of the hyaluronic acid and the dihydrochloride of octenidine, in a ratio by weight of 100: 1 to 2000: 1, and in the form of a cake or of a gel.
