PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a response switch in which though it is a structure easily held by a hand for a long time, the holding to the body of an ophthalmic device or the like can be performed without forming any projections to the device body, and to provide a device that holds the response switch.SOLUTION: A supporting bracket 1c formed as a cantilever is inserted to be engaged with a roller catch mechanism 11 disposed at a body to be supported, thereby the response switch 1 itself is held to the body to be supported. The response switch 1 includes a cylindrical body 1a at the distal end of which a freely pushing push button switch 1b is disposed, the outer periphery of the body 1a has a finger holding part 1e formed so that the body 1a can be held by fingers, the supporting bracket 1c is formed to project to the outside at the middle position of the finger holding part 1e, and a stop part 1d in which the thickness of the supporting bracket 1c becomes great is formed in the width direction of the supporting bracket at the distal end part of the supporting bracket.
