PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device for medical apparatus which considerably reduces uneven illumination while enlarging the dynamic range of light quantity control by a plurality of light sources two-dimensionally arranged, and to provide an endoscope apparatus.SOLUTION: The light source for the medical apparatus emits illuminating light with a light quantity according to a light quantity designated value to be input to a subject. The light source for the medical apparatus includes: a plurality of light sources two-dimensionally arranged； a storage part for storing a lighting pattern where a combination of light sources to be lit from among a plurality of light sources is set corresponding to the light quantity of the designated value； and a light source control unit for controlling the light quantity of the light sources lit in a lighting pattern corresponding to the light quantity designated value. Thus, the operation rate of the plurality of light sources is levelled to enable emission of illumination light of an appropriate light quantity with high precision.
