The present invention relates to a skin whitening composition containing, as an active ingredient, β-mangostin or a salt thereof, and it has been ascertained that β-mangostin of the present invention inhibits the expression of tyrosinase and tyrosinase-related protein-1 (TRP-1) and induces melasosome autophagy, thereby inhibiting melanin generation and exhibiting an effect of removing the melanin accumulated because of a melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). Therefore, β-mangostin of the present invention could be useful as a functional material for skin whitening and lightening.La présente invention concerne une composition pour le blanchiment de la peau contenant comme principe actif du β-mangostin ou un sel de ce dernier, et il a été démontré que le β-mangostin de la présente invention inhibe l'expression de la tyrosinase et la protéine 1 apparentée à la tyrosinase (TRP-1) et induit l'autophagie des mélasosomes, inhibant ainsi la production de mélanine et présentant un effet d'élimination de la mélanine accumulée sous l'action de l'hormone stimulant les mélanocytes (α-MSH). Par conséquent, le β-mangostin de la présente invention pourrait être utilisable comme matériau fonctionnel de blanchiment et d'éclaircissement de la peau.본 발명은 베타-망고스틴(β-mangostin) 또는 이의 염을 유효성분으로 함유하는 피부 미백용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 본 발명의 베타-망고스틴은 티로시나아제(tyrosinase) 및 TRP-1(tyrosinase-related protein-1)의 발현을 저해하며, 멜라소좀(melasosome)의 자가소화작용(autophagy)을 유도하므로, 본 발명의 베타-망고스틴이 멜라닌 생성을 억제할 뿐만 아니라, α-MSH(melanocyte-stimulating hormone)에 의해 축적된 멜라닌을 제거하는 효과까지 나타내는 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 본 발명의 베타-망고스틴은 피부 화이트닝 및 라이트닝을 위한 기능성 소재로 유용하게 사용될 수 있을 것이다.
