The present invention relates to bis-phenyl-hexatriene derivatives, a method for preparing the same, and a skin whitening composition containing the same as an active ingredient. The derivatives have an effect of suppressing gene expression of Tyrosinase, Tyrosinase-related protein 1 (TRP 1), Tyrosinase-related protein 2 (TRP 2), or Microphthalmia-associated transcription factor (MITF), and inhibiting tyrosinase activity, thereby ultimately inhibiting the biosynthesis of melanin, securing safety due to low cytotoxicity, having less side effects, and having an excellent antioxidant effect.
