PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting cutting failure capable of detecting cutting failure, which may be caused when a long object to be conveyed is cut while being conveyed, using a simple sensor in a simple manner.SOLUTION: A method for detecting cutting failure comprises: providing a movable member 124 to a supporting member 21 in a cutting device 20, in which a plurality of short objects 1 are made of a long objects 10 to be conveyed on a support member 21, being sequentially cut at a predetermined interval while being conveyed, in a manner of suppressing a displacement of the movable member when the loaded object to conveyed has not been cut yet, and which releases the suppression on the displacement once the loaded object to conveyed is cut； and detecting cutting failure during operation of the cutting device 20, at a predetermined stage after cutting of the object to be conveyed, on the basis of the state of the object 10 to be conveyed regarding whether the movable member has been displaced or not.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8【課題】長尺状の被搬送物を搬送しながら切断する際に生じる切断不良を、簡易なセンサーを用いて簡便に検出可能である切断不良の検出方法を提供すること。【解決手段】本発明の切断不良の検出方法は、長尺状の被搬送物１０を、支持部材２１上に配して搬送しながら所定の間隔で順次切断して、複数の短尺物１を得る切断装置２０における支持部材２１に、可動部材１２４を、切断前の被搬送物を載せた状態では変位が抑制され、該被搬送物が切断されると変位の抑制状態が解除されるように設け、切断装置２０の運転中に、被搬送物１０の切断後の所定の段階で、可動部材が変位したか否かを基準に切断不良を検出する。【選択図】図８
