PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide automatic rice hulling and rice polishing equipment for providing a shaking separation plate type grain separator by which hulled kernels are efficiently separated after hulling for various types of grains. SOLUTION: The shaking separation plate type grain separator includes a shaking separation plate 2 arranged slantingly for receiving mixed grains before and after hulling by a rice huller and separating both type grains by specific gravity, a movable finishing partitioning plate 4 for separating the kernels flowing out of the discharge end 2a of the separation plate, an optical type grain determination sensor 10 for determining the kernels before and after hulling, and a control part 11 for controlling the positioning of the finishing partitioning plate 4 corresponding to a hulled kernel region in the discharge end 2a of the shaking separation plate 2 based on the calculation results of the mixed ratio of the kernels obtained by the sensor signals, and the grain determination sensor 10 is equipped selectably with a plurality of irradiation light sources 10b having different irradiation characteristics and selects an irradiation light source 10b which gives a wider difference of the kernel detection values before and after hulling and distinguishes the both based on determination values set in a middle range of both the detection values.
