PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod which can flexibly and tenaciously treat a fish and give zestful fishing actions by introducing a cylindrical body comprising a material except a prepreg into a rod body.SOLUTION: This rod body for the fishing rod is composed by connecting a cylindrical tip side portion 3B to a cylindrical butt side portion 3C via a cylindrical intermediate portion 3A to form a base rod 3. The tip side portion 3B is composed of a prepreg having a reinforcing fiber group paralleled in one direction along the axis of the base rod 3, and the butt side portion 3C is composed of a prepreg, having a reinforcing fiber group paralleled in one direction along the axis of the base rod 3.
