PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydroponic apparatus with a simple structure which can cultivate plants such as root vegetables having proper and uniform size and shape at lower cost and easily automate the cultivating work.SOLUTION: A cultivation cylinder 2 in a hydroponic apparatus 10 is made of synthetic resin such as acrylic resin and includes: a body 21 having a cylindrical shape a root support part 22 for supporting the root of a plant 3 such as root vegetables at least two or more holding parts 23 which are provided on the upper edge of the body 21 in the circumferential direction and project outward from the upper edge. The root support part 22 is fixed onto the body 21 by fastening. A plurality of placing projection parts 11 are provided on the opposed two short sides of a water tank 1 in the height direction.
