Plant for heating drinking water to kill Legionella and other germs, comprising heated water disinfection circuit, circulating water circuit and preheater-recooler for cooling the hot, disinfected water
In a plant for heating drinking water (DW), based on a cold water line to a water disinfection circuit (including a charging pump and heater), a circulating water circuit (including a warm DW distribution line and a tappling point) and a preheater-recooler (for cooling the warm, disinfected water), the preheater-recooler is provided with specific connections on its hot and cold water sides and a warm DW reservoir is connected between the warm DW distribution line and the cold water line at the suction side of the charging pump. A plant (1) for heating drinking water (DW) comprises: (a) a cold water (CW) line (11) to a water disinfection circuit with a charging pump (4), a water heater (5) and a reaction volume (6); (b) a circulating water circuit (3) with a circulating pump (7), a warm DW distribution line (8) to a tapping site (9) and a warm DW collection line (10); and (c) a preheater-recooler (13) (for cooling the warm, disinfected water), a warm DW reservoir (12) and a mixing zone (14) for disinfected water from the reaction volume and circulating water from the warm DW collection line. The novel features are that: (i) the preheater-recooler is provided on its CW side with connections (15, 16) for CW sucked from the charging pump and/or cold mixed water and on its hot water side with connections (17, 18) for water from the reaction volume or the mixing zone; and (ii) the warm DW reservoir is connected between the warm DW distribution line and the CW line at the suction side of the charging pump.
