PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved surgical attachment.SOLUTION: A selectively couplable and remotely actuatable surgical attachment for use with an electromechanical driver device is used in expanding occluded vessels and lumens. The attachment includes an axial rod 200 which is couplable to the electromechanical driver device and which is selectively rotatable in accordance with the action of the electromechanical driver device. The rod 200 is also threaded in opposing orientations at either end thereof. A pair of nuts 210, 212 are mounted on the rod, and particularly on the opposing threads.
