The medical device comprises a proximal end (122), a distal end (120), and a shaft system (102) having an inflation lumen (108) and a ventilation lumen (110) the proximal end. The shaft system has a proximal shaft section and a distal shaft section. An inflatable balloon (104) is attached to the distal shaft section in a position that is proximal to the distal end. The ventilating tip (106) is distal to the balloon on the distal shaft section and has one or more radially facing openings (112).
