An ophthalmic apparatus for measuring an examinees eye based on an output from a light receiving device includes a measuring optical system including: a light projecting optical system for projecting measurement light onto a fundus of the examinees eye and a light receiving optical system for guiding light including the measurement light reflected by the fundus of the examinees eye to the light receiving device, characterized by an imaging optical system, including an imaging device having an imaging surface arranged in a position substantially conjugate with an anterior segment of the examinees eye, for capturing a retro-illumination image using the imaging device by illuminating an inner pupil from behind with the measurement light reflected by the fundus, and a speckle suppressing means, arranged in an optical path of the light projecting optical system, for optically suppressing a speckle noise generated on the retro-illumination image.
