PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the diameter of a pupil without using an anterior eye segment illumination.SOLUTION: The ophthalmic apparatus includes: a light projecting optical system for projecting light emitted from a light source onto a fundus an imaging optical system, including an imaging device having an imaging surface arranged in a position substantially conjugate with an anterior segment of an examinees eye, for picking up an intra-pupil image illuminated by fundus reflection light by the light source and also a pupil measuring means for measuring the size of the pupil of the examinees eye, on the basis of an outer edge part in the intra-pupil image acquired by the imaging device.
