The present invention relates to a Chinese cabbage-derived BrSR45a gene associated with drought stress resistance of plants and a transgenic plant in which the gene is overexpressed are highly resistant to drought stress. Therefore, the transgenic plant can be useful as new functional crops that are highly adaptable to dry cultivation conditions due to resistance to drought stress of cultivated land caused by changes in climatic conditions due to global warming and the like.
