PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new stopper mechanism that enables smooth positioning and fixing by suppressing the occurrence of mechanical impact as much as possible, and also provide the stopper mechanism and a height-adjustable chair with the same in which the smooth adjustment of a lifting height position and a lowering height position is enabled by a lifting stopper mechanism and a lowering stopper mechanism using this stopper mechanism.SOLUTION: A stopper mechanism 1 includes a pinion gear 4 being engaged in a gear groove 7a of a rack gear member 7 arranged in a movable manner, a pinion gear 6 engaging with a gear groove 7b, and also a pinion gear 5 engaging with the pinion gear 4 and the gear groove 7a.
