PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sulky type rice transplanter reducing a state in which a leg, etc. of an operator contacts a manipulator at a fixing position in a case where the sulky type rice transplanter includes: a preliminary seedling placing base which is movable in a front/rear direction and a manipulator which is capable of fixing the preliminary seedling placing base in a desired position.SOLUTION: The sulky type rice transplanter includes: a support frame 26 arranged in right/left lateral side part of a machine body and supporting a preliminary seedling placing base 31 so as to move along a front/rear direction and a manipulator 47 capable of fixing the preliminary seedling placing base 31 at a desired position and arranged in a machine body right/left center side of the preliminary seedling placing base 31. The manipulator 47 is operable at a fixing position A1 fixing the preliminary seedling placing base 31 at the desired position and a releasing position A2.
