Disclosed is a method for determining a possibility of dental caries by using an X-ray image. The method can comprise the steps of: generating a tooth image by separating an area of teeth from an X-ray image generating segmented images by performing image segmentation on the tooth image checking whether or not there is an area having characteristics different from the characteristics of a normal tooth in the segmented images and determining that there is a possibility of dental caries in a tooth corresponding to the tooth image when there is the area having the characteristics different from the characteristics of the normal tooth in the segmented images.COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017X선 영상을 이용하여 치아 우식 가능성을 판단하는 방법이 개시된다. 개시된 방법은, X선 영상에서 치아를 나타내는 영역을 분리하여 치아 영상을 생성하는 단계, 치아 영상에 대해 영상분할을 수행하여 분할된 영상을 생성하는 단계, 상기 분할된 영상에서 정상 치아의 특징과 다른 특징의 영역이 있는지를 검사하는 단계, 및 상기 분할된 영상에서 정상 치아의 특징과 다른 특징의 영역이 있는 것으로 판단된 경우, 상기 치아 영상에 해당하는 치아에 우식 가능성이 있는 것으로 판단하는 단계를 포함할 수 있다.
