Antiviral compositions and methods that are particularly effective in the treatment and prevention of influenza A virus are contemplated. Cell analysis is also disclosed as related to the detection of influenza RNA-dependent RNA polymerase activity in mammalian cells that identify low molecular compounds with antiviral properties, particularly those that are independent of other influenza A component components. A preferred assay allows to identify virus growth inhibitors that do not interfere with normal cellular activity.인플루엔자 A 바이러스의 치료 및 예방에 특히 효과적인 항바이러스성 조성물 및 방법이 고려된다. 또한 항바이러스성 특성을 갖는 저분자 화합물을 동정하는, 특히 다른 인플루엔자 A 구성성분에 독립적인 포유동물 세포에서의 인플루엔자 RNA-의존성 RNA 폴리머라제 활성을 검출하는 것과 관련된 것으로서의 세포 분석이 공개된다. 바람직한 분석은 정상적인 세포 활성에 지장을 주지 않는 바이러스 증식 저해제를 식별하도록 한다.
