Provided are a preparation process of a purified green-tea extract capable of easily and efficiently removing a turbidity component contained in a green tea extracta purified green-tea extract prepared by the preparation processand a packaged beverage containing the purified green-tea extract.The preparation process of a purified green-tea extract containing, in the solid content thereof, from 36 to 99 mass% of non-polymer catechins comprises bringing a green tea extract into contact with a mixed solution containing an organic solvent and water at a mass ratio of from 65/35 to 97/3 and active carbon and/or acid clayor active clay, adjusting the organic solvent/water mass ratio of the resulting solution to from 0/100 to 85/15, and then separating the turbidity component thus separated.本發明係提供一種可有效簡便除去綠茶萃取物中所含混濁成分之純化綠茶萃取物之製造方法、以及藉由該製造方法製造之純化綠茶萃取物及含有其之容器包裝飲料。本發明之純化綠茶萃取物之製造方法,係將綠茶萃取物與有機溶劑和水之質量比為65/35~97/3之混合溶液、以及活性碳及/或酸性白土或者活性白土進行接觸處理而獲得綠茶萃取物,其次將該溶液中有機溶劑與水之質量比調整為0/100~85/15後所析出之混濁物進行分離之固形分中含有36~99質量%非聚合體兒茶素類。
