The present invention relates to a method for coating a field-joint between two pipe sections. The method comprises heating the uncoated region of said pipe sections to a first temperature of 140-160°C; applying a curable first polymer layer onto the uncoated region of the surface of the pipe sections; wherein said first polymer is epoxy in powder form; reheating steel of the pipe sections with a reactive first polymer layer to a second temperature of 170-200°C by induction heating technique; and applying a second polymer layer onto said reheated reactive first polymer layer, whereby the two polymers react and form a protective coating on the pipe sections, while said first polymer continues to cure; wherein said second polymer is polyolefin; and wherein the second polymer layer is applied so that it overlaps with the factory coating of the pipe sections and bonds with the factory coating by the heat provided.
