PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerant giving no health damage through oral contamination into a human body by damaging a cold insulator pack caused by some reasons, jumping out of the cold insulator content and adhering to a transported substance and able to maintain shape retainability (gel properties) by gel action without generating gel dehydration after freezing and thawing and maintain soft feeling after refreezing.SOLUTION: The cold insulator is a water retention gel body. The cold insulator contains sugar having 180-15,000 weight average molecular weight as a freezing thawing resistance-imparting agent and a naturally derived gellation thickener as a gel body formation agent as essential ingredients and, if needed, an alcohol as an antifreezing agent, and expresses cold retention time about 70% or more than that for water.COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT【課題】保冷剤パックが何らかの要因で破損し、保冷剤内容物が飛び出して、輸送物に付着混合し、更に万が一人間の体内に経口混入した場合でも健康被害を生じることない保冷剤において、凍結解凍後もゲル離水がほとんど発生せずゲル作用による保形性(ゲル性)を維持できるとともに、再凍結した場合におけるソフト感も維持できる保冷剤を提供すること。【解決手段】水保持ゲル体である保冷剤。凍結解凍耐性付与剤としての重量平均分子量180~15000の糖質と、ゲル体形成剤としての天然物由来ゲル化増粘剤とを必須成分として含有し、適宜、凍結防止剤としてアルコール類を含有する。保冷時間が水の場合の7割程度以上を示す。【選択図】なし
