PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retreat a fence member in a collision with an obstacle due to height control.SOLUTION: In a rotary side guard device 19 for beds, a fence member 21 is rotatably fitted to the side edge of a height-controllable support part 2 for supporting a user through a shaft 20 laid along the width direction of the support part 2. In use, the fence member 21 is erected higher than a surface 39 supporting the user, and in storing, the fence member 21 is laid down to a position lower than the surface 39 supporting the user to be stored.
