Provided are a transmission method and system for a security video conference in a low network speed environment, the method comprising the following steps: receiving a video file of a video conference and a security video file; detecting network speed of a conference venue; and converting the video files into standard definition files for transmission if the network speed is a low network speed. The technical solution provided by the present invention has the advantage of a high-level user experience.
