PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope having a configuration capable of reliably mechanically preventing a pulled member from being pulled even if an operator unintentionally slightly touches an operation member in a non-operation state.SOLUTION: An endoscope includes: a pulling wire 10 for bending a bending section 4 by pulling it a joystick 8 for inputting a pulling operation or a releasing operation of the pulling wire 10 a drive member 20 for allowing a C-ring 22 to impart an auxiliary pulling force to the pulling wire 10 by the rotation in accordance with the input operation of the joystick 8 and a slider 25 for stopping the auxiliary pulling force to be imparted from the drive member 20 to the pulling wire 10, when the joystick 8 is not operated. The drive member 20 is rotated by releasing the stopping by the slider 25 caused by the input operation of the joystick 8, and imparts the auxiliary pulling force to the pulling wire 10.
