PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide hair dye compositions excellent in hair dyeing property, operativity, and storage stability.SOLUTION: A hair dye composition contains (A) a cationic surfactant whose counter ion is methosulfate ion； (B) a cationic polymer； and (C) one or more dyes selected from (C1) a basic dye and (C2) an HC dye. The cationic polymer (B) is a methacryloyl alkyl quaternary ammonium salt polymer, the basic dye (C1) is at least one selected from the group consisting of e.g., basic blue 75, basic blue 99, basic brown 16, basic brown 17, basic red 76, and basic yellow 57.
