The present invention relates to a method for dyeing keratin fibers, especially human keratin fibers such as hair, using one or more specific triarylmethane dyes and one or more fluorescent dyes. The invention also relates to a cosmetic composition comprising a dye as defined above, and a multi-compartment device containing said dye. The present invention provides light keratin fibers, especially human keratin fibers such as hair, without the use of additional dyes other than those defined above, maroon, dark maroon, brown, shiny brown, or even black.
