PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a raw medicine for magnetic particle-containing medicine, which produces in excellent reproducibility a magnetic particle-containing medicine that exhibits uniform functionality and is useful for diagnosis and treatment.
SOLUTION: The raw medicine for magnetic particle-containing medicine is a colloidal aseptic aqueous solution comprising monodispersed magnetic iron oxide fine particles having 5-30 nm average particle diameter of primary particles, 30-200 nm flocculated particle diameters, 35-90 Am
2 /kg saturation magnetization and 0-6.0 kA/m holding power. The raw medicine for magnetic particle-containing medicine is obtained by forming minute magnetic iron oxide particles, removing water-soluble by-product salts generated as by-products in a reaction from a reaction solution by washing with water by a routine procedure, purifying a colloidal aqueous solution of superparamagnetic iron oxide particles and replacing the dispersion medium of the purified colloidal aqueous solution with ultrapure water.COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
