The invention relates to a shoulder mechanism for an orthosis, permitting a ball-type articulation between a support (1) and an orthosis arm (100), comprising a first intermediate element (2) mounted so as to turn on the support about a first axis of articulation (A1), a second intermediate element (4) mounted so as to turn on the first intermediate element about a second axis of articulation (A2), the arm being mounted so as to turn on the second intermediate element about a third axis of articulation (A3). According to the invention, the first axis of articulation (A1) extends in a longitudinal horizontal direction, the first intermediate element having a circular rail (3) on which the second intermediate element (4) slides and which has a geometric axis defining the second axis of articulation (A2), which extends vertically when the arm is at rest, the cicular rail extending around the shoulder.Linvention concerne un mécanisme dépaule pour orthèse, assurant une articulation de type rotulaire entre un support (1) et un bras dorthèse (100), comportant un premier élément intermédiaire (2) monté pour tourner sur le support autour dun premier axe darticulation (A1), un deuxième élément intermédiaire (4) monté pour tourner sur le premier élément intermédiaire selon un deuxième axe darticulation (A2), le bras étant monté pour tourner sur le deuxième élément intermédiaire selon un troisième axe darticulation (A3). Selon linvention, le premier axe darticulation (A1) sétend selon une direction horizontale longitudinale, le premier élément intermédiaire comportant un rail circulaire (3) sur lequel le deuxième élément intermédiaire (4) coulisse et qui présente un axe géométrique définissant le deuxième axe darticulation (A2) qui sétend verticalement lorsque le bras est au repos, le rail circulaire sétendant pour faire extérieurement le tour de lépaule.
