The invention relates to a device for guiding a medical imaging probe (1) in order to move said probe close to an anatomical space (101), the probe comprising a means (4, 5) for acquiring images of the anatomical space, the device comprising at least one sensor (10) securely mounted to the probe. According to the invention, the device comprises a processing means (7) capable of deducing a rotation of the probe in the space from the signals generated by the sensor and including a means (20) for estimating a plurality of plausible positions of the probe relative to the anatomical space by means of at least deducing the rotation of the probe in the space, the processing means being arranged such as to determine the position of the probe relative to the anatomical space from the plausible positions. The invention also relates to a method for guiding said probe.Linvention concerne un dispositif de guidage dune sonde dimagerie médicale (1) pour amener ladite sonde à proximité dun volume anatomique (101), la sonde comportant des moyens dacquisition dimages (4,5) du volume anatomique, le dispositif comportant au moins un capteur (10) monté solidaire de la sonde. Selon linvention, le dispositif comporte des moyens de traitement (7) aptes à déduire une rotation de la sonde dans lespace à partir des signaux générés par le capteur et comprenant des moyens destimation (20) de plusieurs positions plausibles de la sonde relativement au volume anatomique à partir d au moins la déduction de la rotation de la sonde dans lespace, les moyens de traitement étant agencés pour déterminer la position de la sonde relativement au volume anatomique à partir des positions plausibles. L invention concerne également un procédé de guidage dune telle sonde.
