PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inhibitor of the production of an advanced glycation end product (AGE), wherein the inhibitor contains substances which can suppress the production of AGEs, considered to cause various lifestyle diseases, the inhibitor is useful for the prevention and/or treatment of lifestyle diseases, particularly diabetes or diabetic complications, and the inhibitor causes less adverse drug reactions.SOLUTION: The present invention provides an inhibitor of the production of an advanced glycation end product, the inhibitor containing maltitol as an active ingredient.【課題】種々の生活習慣病の要因物質と考えられている終末糖化産物の生成を抑制することができる物質を含み、生活習慣病、特に糖尿病もしくは糖尿病合併症の予防および／または治療に有用であり且つ副作用の少ない終末糖化産物生成抑制剤を提供すること。【解決手段】マルチトールを有効成分として含有する終末糖化産物生成抑制剤を提供する。【選択図】なし
