The invention provides chondrogenic differentiation media comprising chondrogenic growth factors and low-molecular-weight sulfated polysaccharide derivatives of marine native exopolysaccharides (EPS) excreted by mesophilic marine bacteria from deep-sea hydrothermal environments.
