The present invention provides a device for protecting the ear canal and/or the eardrum of a user from physical contact with the ambient liquid medium when submerging in said medium. The device comprises (a) an earpiece being sized and dimensioned for tightly fitting the outer ear canal of the user, said earpiece being formed with a channel (8) having an inner opening (7) and an outer opening (6), said inner opening facing the eardrum (3) of the user and said outer opening facing the outside wherein in the space between the inner opening (7) and the ear drum (3), the volume of a permanent void (VPV) is defined； and (b) an external open void being tightly fitted to said earpiece, wherein the ambient liquid medium enters said external open void through one or more outer openings (10), wherein at least a part of the inner surface (12) of said external open void is in direct contact with the ambient liquid medium.La présente invention concerne un dispositif de protection du canal auditif et/ou du tympan d'un utilisateur contre un contact physique avec le milieu liquide ambiant lorsqu'il est immergé dans ledit milieu.
