The manual screening device has a handle section (12), which is held by the user and a screen section (14) for screening of impurities from a substrate. The screen section is connected with the handle section. The screen section has a wide-mesh screen (16) and a fine screen (22) below the wide-mesh screen. The screen section is provided in shear direction, where a catchment area is formed between wide-mesh screen and fine screen. The catchment area is opened by the user by an actuating device and is closed again.
