PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prophylaxis or ameliorating agent for osteoporosis with reduced adverse effect, and usable as foods or pharmaceuticals, etc.SOLUTION: The invention relates to the prophylaxis or ameliorating agent for osteoporosis containing shark meat with removed fascial part, or defatted product of the same as active ingredient. The muscle part excluding the fascial part has an excellent bone density increasing and bone strength enhancing action in separated medication of fascia which is understood as richly containing collagen in the shark meat, and muscle excluding the fascia to postmenopausal osteoporosis model rat, and is useful as the prophylaxis or amelioration for osteoporosis, useful as therapeutic agent or food for amelioration.COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT【課題】副作用が少なく、食品又は医薬品等として利用可能な骨粗鬆症の予防又は改善剤の提供。【解決手段】スジ部を除去したサメ肉又はその脱脂物を有効成分とする骨粗鬆症の予防又は治療剤。サメ肉中でコラーゲンを多く含んでいると考えられるすじ肉(fascia)とそれ以外の部位の肉(muscle)を、閉経後骨粗鬆症モデルラットに別々に投与したところ、すじ肉以外のmuscle部位に優れた骨密度増加作用及び骨強度増強作用があり、骨粗鬆症の予防又は改善剤として有用で、治療剤または改善用食品として有用であった。【選択図】なし
