PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water soluble acetic cellulose-based resin composition enabling an acetic cellulose-based resin molded article having water solubility and biodegradability to be produced in a molten state.SOLUTION: The water soluble cellulose-based resin composition contains 50 to 95 wt.% of acetic cellulose (A) having acetyl all substitution degree of 0.5 to 1.0 (A) and 5 to 50 wt.% of a water soluble organic additive (B). The water soluble organic additive (B) is preferably polyethylene glycol or polyethylene oxide. The content of the water soluble organic additive (B) is preferably 10 to 50 wt.%, more preferably 20 to 50 wt.%.
