Composition comprises (a) at least one linear fatty alcohol (4-20 wt.%), (b) at least one oxyalkylenated nonionic surfactant comprising at least 10 oxyalkylene groups, (c) at least one anionic surfactant and (d) at least one oxidation dye, where the composition contains less than 1 wt.% of fatty acid salts.
