FIELD: fixture employed to fix specimens for tension testing. SUBSTANCE: catch to fix specimens for tension testing has body housing gripping jaws with toothed separable inserts installed in grooves of jaws, aid fixing inserts and driving unit. Inserts are mounted in jaws for possible change of position of surface contacting specimen with reference to axis of catch. Width of insert is less than width of groove in jaw, middle part of insert butt has bevel interacting with aid fixing inserts coming in the form of screw and located in butt of jaw on side of bevel. Width of insert can achieve 0.5-0.8 width of groove in jaw, angle of bevel can be less than 90 degrees with supporting plane of insert and width of bevel can reach 0.8 width of insert. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of fixing separable inserts in catch and prolonged service life of inserts owing to use of entire toothed surface of inserts. 4 dwg
