The method according to claim 1, where a reduced pressure is applied to a tissue site through a collector connected to a source of reduced pressure. ! 6. The method according to claim 5, where the collector is a biocompatible substrate that is applied to a tissue site. ! 7. The method according to claim 1, where the chondrocyte or precursor of the chondrocyte is a chondrocyte. ! 8. The method according to claim 1, where the chondrocyte or precursor of the chondrocyte is a mesenchymal stem cell. ! 9. The method according to claim 2, where the biocompatible substrate is bioabsorbable. ! 10. The method according to claim 2, where the biocompatible substrate contains polyhydroxy acid, poly (caprolactone), polycarbonate, polyamide, polyanhydride, polyamino acid, polyorthoester, polyacetal, degradable polycyanoacrylate or degradable polyurethane. ! 11. The method of claim 10, wherein the biocompatible substrate comprises a polylactide-co-glycolide (PLAGA) polymer or a polyethylene glycol-PLAGA copolymer. ! 12.
